US Conference Board’s consumer confidence index likely rebounded in January

The US Conference Board's consumer confidence measure is likely to have risen by three points to 99.5 in January. Strong labor market conditions, along with considerably lower fuel costs are expected to have increased consumers' spirits.

"Hinting at a potential decline in the civilian jobless rate to the Federal Reserve's 4.9% estimate of full employment, we expect the labor differential to move back into positive territory for the first time in five months", says Societe Generale.
