Tweet now: Neato was named to the Bay Area News Group’s 2017 list of the “Top 100 Workplaces” in the SF area.
The Top Workplaces program recognizes great employers on 30 regional lists and one national list. The evaluations for the list are based purely on employee feedback that shown a strong rate of response, which are gathered by independent firm, WorkplaceDynamics. Presented by the Bay Area News Group, a consortium of top area newspapers, including the San Jose Mercury News, the Contra Costa Times and the Oakland Tribune, the program recognizes companies who demonstrate best practices in dedication to their employees and foster a positive, productive and collaborative corporate environment.
“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits,” says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. “But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day—the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together.” Claffey adds, “Without this sense of connection, an organization doesn’t have a shot at being named a Top Workplace.”
“The ‘Top Workplace’ award validates our mission to create an employee-centric culture,” says Amanda Shepherd, HR Manager at Neato Robotics. “We are both honored and humbled to receive this award. We work hard to find people who are truly passionate about robotics and you can feel that passion when you speak to anyone in our company. Loving what you do and loving the product that you build, support or sell makes for a fantastic working environment.” Shepherd adds, “Our executive team communicates frequently and openly about the business and our mission, and that leads to a fantastic culture where everyone is heard, understood and working towards a collective future. The top place to work award only serves to confirm what Neato employees feel every day.”
