UFO: Navy pilot that recorded 'Tic Tac' UFO recalls incident

For the past 15 years, Navy pilot Chad Underwood has kept mum about the incident he witnessed and recorded back in 2004. In a recent interview, Underwood explains what happened and why he chose to stay silent.

Unidentified Flying Objects or UFOs have often been a topic of interest among space and science-fiction enthusiasts for years. Many have also looked into previous incidents involving these phenomena that have long been suggested as a sign of life beyond Earth. On the 10th of November 2004, Chad Underwood recorded an unusual object in the sky during a flight training exercise. His commanding officer David Fravor was the first to spot the object, instructing Underwood to record it with his infrared camera.

In a recent interview, Underwood revealed that he did not want to associate what he saw to aliens or an alien spacecraft nor even speculate what it was. He explained that he simply saw it for what it was, an unidentified flying object. “It was flying. And it was an object. It’s as simple as that.”

But prior to his recording, his commanding officer already tipped him about something unusual that may be in the sky at the time. The weather reports on that day showed clear skies, but there was a sudden blip on the radar. The object was described as white and smooth, like an elongated egg, to which Underwood described it as a “Tic Tac.” Coincidentally, days prior to the incident, the guided-missile cruiser called the USS Princeton was already tracking down eight to 10 unidentified flying objects.

Meanwhile, people who may have been celebrating outside during New Year may have seen something strange when the sun rose. People at Fort Pierce were witnesses to a strange flying object with a flaming trail. People who were present at the area speculated that the strange flying object was either a missile or a rocket, however, what made it strange was that there were no launch pads in sight on the ocean. Another local who was present speculated, “Looks like a rocket you know, could be aliens.”

However, some experts were able to clear this up. Sanford Manley, a former historian with the Strategic Air Command, said that the UFO people saw that morning was “the contrail of a plane being illuminated by the rising sun.”
