Vail, Colorado, Aug. 01, 2017 -- It was an exciting week of presentations for SPRI researchers, fellows and international scholars during the 2017 AOSSM annual meeting in Toronto, ON. As researchers, doctors and fellows from all around the world walked through the many posters showcasing the high caliber research work being done in the field of sports and regenerative medicine on July 21, it was hard not to notice how many research projects were led by alumni, current fellows and doctors from SPRI and The Steadman Clinic.

Dr. Andrew (Andy) Geeslin, who led a team that worked with Dr. Robert LaPrade discussing a technique to repair a complex meniscus repair, took a moment to snap a photo of their third-place research poster on the subject, an honor in a truly competitive field. “It was amazing to work with him,” said Dr. Geeslin, referring to his time with Dr. LaPrade. “Everything is a comprehensive and longitudinal analysis and it builds on itself. I will take away these expert techniques as I move forward in my career and share this knowledge with others.”
SPRI international research scholar, Zaamin Hussain, who is currently a medical school student at the University of Cambridge in England, showcased his work and participation on one of the many posters that SPRI and The Steadman Clinic produced. “Being able to work with the world leaders of sports medicine has been an opportunity that will carry me through the rest of my career. I learned so much more than just the clinical and research techniques and applications. This time with SPRI and The Steadman Clinic taught me the importance of leadership, organization and dedication that will help me in my future.”
Next year’s AOSSM annual meeting will be held in San Diego, CA.
