CLEVELAND, Ga., May 4, 2016 -- For 29 years collectors of Xavier Roberts hand sculpted Little People® and Cabbage Patch Kids have come to the mountain community of Cleveland, Georgia, to make new friends as well as catch up with "family". This year Spring Event is May 2-6, 2016.
The theme of the five day event is "Bedtime Stories." Over the years, attendees, whose ages ranged from eighties down to babies, are part of this global, extended family. BabyLand General Hospital has become the home place for this annual reunion that began in 1988. Here kids of all ages are encouraged to use their imagination and dream big!
Activities range from luncheons, workshops, banquet and the "Mad Dash", which collectors enjoy as they find their one of a kind, hand-made, adoptable baby, belonging to this special event edition. Event attendees are included in a drawing to have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to have First Pick from that year's special Spring Event Crop. From 'Kids to hand-made soft sculpture Cabbages, the annual event edition is a treasured tradition.
The five-day event is open exclusively to current members of the Little People Cabbage Patch Kids Collectors Club. There is one event open to the public on Tuesday, May 3. BabyLand General Hospital, decorated in the event theme, introduces a special limited edition baby, collectors call the Sidekick. Limited to a total of 100 babies in this year's edition, the characters are Pocohontas and Peter Pan. Hand-stitched to birth, these adoptable babies can share the joy of captivating children's bedtime stories with their "Adoptive Parents" until sleep arrives. Collectors are usually waiting for doors to open at 9 a.m. at BabyLand, so they can have their first pick.
