Gaming fans know that reports about the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) usually start to surface around this month. It would not be surprising if many fans are most curious on whether Bethesda is bringing out new “The Elder Scrolls 6” teasers for the event in June.
Several major video game companies already confirmed they are not holding press events at E3 probably because they will be organizing their own conventions where they can have the media’s and attendees’ undivided attention. Bethesda’s silence about this year’s E3 started to worry fans that they might have to endure an E3 week without “The Elder Scrolls 6.”
However, Bethesda has actually subtly confirmed they will be at E3. There was a previous sweepstakes contest for “Elder Scrolls Online” players where four lucky winners would get a free trip to Los Angeles, California where the convention is held annually. The brief description of the contest mentioned there will be BE3 or Bethesda’s own event within the E3 program. This means fans could be a step closer to seeing an all-new “The Elder Scrolls 6” teaser.
Video game companies tend to keep presentation details under wraps for that surprise factor. This means fans cannot expect a heads up whether “The Elder Scrolls 6” is going to be at E3 2019. However, considering that Bethesda already announced the game last year, there is a bigger chance that they want to keep the momentum up by releasing a new sneak peek into the “The Elder Scrolls 6.”
Fans might have to wait a little longer to hear about “The Elder Scrolls 6’s” official title. There were rumors that the upcoming game will be called “Redfall.” Bethesda has neither confirmed nor denied these reports, but its parent company ZeniMax Media did submit a trademark application for “Redfall” in September 2018.
However, ZeniMax and Bethesda cannot claim the word “Redfall” — supposedly for "The Elder Scrolls 6” — just yet as their application is currently being challenged by author Jay J. Falconer. In 2016, he released a same title novel series. Falconer recently confirmed there is a legal dispute over the trademark application saying, “My lawyers made attempts to contact gaming company to work out a simple licensing deal for them to use my ‘Redfall’ name. They ignored me every time. Shame. Left me no choice. All could have been avoided. Just call my attorneys back.”
