Multiple projects of Ubisoft have been delayed this year, and the anticipated “The Division 2” update is now part of that list, too. The video game company confirmed it will push the release date of the game’s eighth season, along with other content updates, to early 2022.ire
Fans of the Tom Clancy video game universe have been waiting for an all-new game from Ubisoft. While the developer has yet to make that happen, gamers received good news earlier this year when Ubisoft announced “The Division 2” is getting a major content update that was slated to go live in late 2021. Unfortunately, plans have changed and the said update launching with season 8 is now scheduled to arrive in February 2022.
Ubisoft confirmed the new release window in a blog post on Tuesday. The developer did not reveal specific details about the content to launch with the update, but Ubisoft said it is going to be one of its “most ambitious” projects for the franchise.
The Tuesday blog post did not discuss the features and new content included in the upcoming major update. But in its original announcement last March, the developer said one of the biggest additions will be a new game mode that has never been done in the franchise. Ubisoft also said at the time, “We are investigating new ways to progress your agent with an emphasis on increasing build variety and viability. We will be revealing more about what lies ahead as the update gets closer.”
To make up for the delay of season 8 and the major update, Ubisoft confirmed that a new episode of Intelligence Annex will be released every month until the update’s big reveal. The first episode will be available on Thursday, Oct. 28, where expert game designer Trick Dempsey will discuss “Specialization Revamp.” This might shed some light on what Ubisoft meant with “new ways to progress your agent.”
However, fans will have to wait until January 2022 for the major reveal of “The Division 2” season 8. In the same month, Ubisoft will also unveil the new game mode and other content included in the new season.
