DEERFIELD, Ill., Dec. 16, 2016 -- Surgical Care Affiliates, Inc. (NASDAQ:SCAI) (“SCA”), a leader in the outpatient surgery industry, has partnered with Midwest Center for Day Surgery (“MCDS”), a joint venture owned by Advocate Health Care (“Advocate”) and community physicians, effective December 1, 2016.

SCA has also acquired Midwest Surgical Management Group, LLC (“MSMG”), a joint venture between Advocate and community physicians. SCA will assume management responsibilities for outpatient surgery centers in the Chicagoland area including, Naperville Surgical Centre, Midwest Center for Day Surgery, Tinley Woods Surgery Center and Palos Hills Surgery Center. The transaction is effective December 1, 2016.
Advocate and SCA entered a joint venture to acquire and develop a surgery center network in early 2015.
