Submissions are Now Welcome for Sunset Magazine’s Fourth Annual “Sunset Travel Awards” Recognizing the West’s Premier Destinations for 2018

OAKLAND, CA, Jan. 22, 2018 -- OAKLAND, CA January 22, 2018— Sunset, the defining lifestyle brand of the modern American West, has announced its fourth annual Sunset Travel Awards, honoring the West’s top destinations for lodging, food and drink, and attractions and activities. Since its founding in 1898 by the Southern Pacific, Sunset has established itself as the West’s most trusted source of travel information. The Sunset Travel Awards will help steer the magazine’s 5 million readers to the best destinations to match their taste, budget, and interests. Award winners will be revealed in the August 2018 issue and on Sunset.com.

Submissions are now being accepted for the 2018 Sunset Travel Awards at www.sunset.com/travelawards.

To honor the West’s standout travel destinations, organizations, and businesses, Sunset will issue awards across five broad categories, including Tourist Activities, Lodging, Destination Towns, Food and Wine, and Travel Gear. 

Entries can be submitted now by going to sunset.com/travelawards. The deadline for entries and registration payment is 11:59 p.m., PDT, February 28, 2018. Nominees will be vetted and voted on by Sunset’s esteemed editors, who have been authorities on Western travel since the magazine’s inception in 1898. Sunset’s  passionate readers will also have a chance to take part in a very special Reader’s Choice vote. All winners will be featured in the August 2018 issue’s cover story.
