The Seoul Metropolitan Government will be opening eco-friendly stores dubbed ‘Zero Markets’ shops that refrain from using disposable packaging at 10 locations, including department stores and super supermarkets (SSM).
Zero Markets lets customers fill up their multi-use bottles or containers in buying the exact amount of refillable products, such as detergent, shampoo, and cosmetics by weight.
Seoul plans to test Zero Markets for six months after sequentially opening new stores until January of next year.
Each local distributor will operate the Zero Markets during the trial period.
