STAMFORD, Conn., Nov. 15, 2016 -- SoldierStrong, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing advanced medical technologies to veterans, today announced that it will honor notable supporters at its 3rd Annual SoldierSalute Gala. The gala is scheduled to take place on Tuesday November 15th, 2016, at 6:30 p.m. at The Union League of Philadelphia, PA.
Honorees include IndyCar Series driver Graham Rahal, who will be presented with the 2016 Commitment to Service Award. Restaurant chain Dinosaur Bar-B-Que will also be recognized for their support of SoliderStrong through their ‘Sauce for a Cause’ charity fundraiser.
Fox News Anchor Martha MacCallum will host the event, which will include special guest speakers:
- The Honorable Scott Brown, former United States Senator
- Admiral Edmund Giambastiani, former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
- Amber Smith, former Army Kiowa Warrior Helicopter Pilot
“Our foundation is fueled by the generosity of our supporters, whom we will proudly honor tonight," said Chris Meek, co-founder and Chairman of SoldierStrong. "Our partners’ unwavering commitment to our nation’s heroes is felt and appreciated by every member of this organization as well as each of the thousands of lives their donation dollars touch.”
More than $100,000 was raised through our partnership with Graham Rahal and United Rentals, who pledged $50 for each racing lap completed in the 2016 IndyCar Series season. Rahal competes in the IndyCar Series for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, co-owned by three-time IndyCar Champion and 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner Bobby Rahal, former CBS Late Show host David Letterman and businessman Mike Lanigan.
Dinosaur Bar-B-Que raised more than $20,000 through ‘Sauce for a Cause,’ a fundraising program which sold co-branded barbeque sauce bottles throughout the summer.
Established in 2009, SoldierStrong is committed to providing veterans access to cutting-edge medical technologies to help them overcome life-changing injuries sustained while on active duty. The organization uses the funds raised through various charity events to purchase and donate The SoldierSuit to VA hospitals nationwide.
