Samsung Electronics Co. sent another 300 engineers and workers to Xian, Shaanxi Province, China, to expand its second chip manufacturing facility there.
Last month, Samsung dispatched 200 South Korean engineers to the Xian plant.
The 14-day mandatory isolation will not apply to the workers via a fast-track entry system approved by South Korea and China.
However, they would undergo quarantine for three days, even after testing negative for the virus.
The Xian plant, Samsung's only memory chip factory overseas, manufactures 3D NAND flash products.
Last year, the South Korean tech giant announced that it would invest an additional US$8 billion in the Xian plant for expansion.
