“Riverdale” Spoilers: Homecoming Preparations Are Underway, But “Revelation” Will Threaten It In Latest Promo; EP Confirms Jason Blossom’s Killer To Be Revealed In Episode 11 As Show Hires Mark Consuelos To Be Hiram Lodge

As Season 1 of The CW’s hit teen drama approaches to a close, tensions continue to rise between several major characters in Riverdale.

A new promo for the upcoming April 27 episode, titled “To Riverdale And Back Again,” showed that not even a well-intentioned Homecoming event will simmer the drama down. WWLP breaks down the episode synopsis:

“Betty (Lili Reinhart) is slammed overseeing Homecoming and Reunion weekend, but Alice (Madchen Amick) wants her to help with the Jason Blossom investigation. Alice turns to Archie (KJ Apa) and Veronica (Camila Mendes) for help, but when Betty discovers they are working with her mom, she is not happy. After seeing his father FP (guest star Skeet Ulrich) start to clean up his act, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) wonders if it’s the right time to give him another chance. Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) and Polly (guest star Tiera Skovbye) have both decided to go to Homecoming in Jason’s honor, until a revelation waylays their plans. Meanwhile, Fred (Luke Perry) and Mary (guest star Molly Ringwald) attend the Homecoming dance, leaving Fred to possibly reconsider the divorce.“

Meanwhile, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa recently revealed that the fans will only have to wait for one more episode to find out the identity of Jason’s (Trevor Stines) killer. Buzzfeed reported that Aguirre-Sacasa himself confirmed the news with Entertainment Weekly. He said the reveal will have an impact on the show’s finale, which will be shown on May 11, and will have the whole of Riverdale “reeling.”

Moreover, Mark Consuelos has been tapped to play Veronica’s mysterious dad, Hiram Lodge. On the other hand, the casting decision might encounter a snag if Consuelos’ other project, the TV series “Pitch,” gets picked up for a second season, Screenrant said. Otherwise, Consuelos will stay on “Pitch” and “Riverdale” will have to find a new Hiram.
