The “Rick and Morty” season 4 release date is still unknown. But on the positive side, fans are recently reassured that the cast and crew of the popular adult animated series are continuously working on producing new episodes.
The latest update on “Rick and Morty” season 4 came from no less than Sarah Chalke, who is the voice actor for the main character Beth Smith. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada, Chalke was unsurprisingly asked about any release date updates.
The Canadian actress and voice artist only had this to say about “Rick and Morty” season 4, “I cannot say when, we’re making them right now, though, and I’m excited for you guys to get to see them.” Meanwhile, the “Scrubs” alum also hinted that the release date announcement is “coming.” Chalke will reprise her role in “Rick and Morty” season 4. Aside from the popular Adult Swim series, Chalke also had voice acting roles in “American Dad!” and Netflix’s “Paradise PD.”
Chalke also shared some behind-the-scenes detail, specifically about working with series co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. “They’re like a bottomless supply, the two of them. That’s what’s been so fun about working on the show,” the voice actor said.
There have been a number of video teasers revealed in the previous months. But it does not seem like they bear particular details about the “Rick and Morty” season 4 release date. Harmon and Roiland have also posted some behind-the-scenes photos and videos showing that the work on animation and audio recording for the new episodes have started several months ago.
Considering the indications that the animation works for “Rick and Morty” season 4 have already started, there are speculations that the animated series could return before 2019 ends. Based on the production time frame of previous seasons, there are also suggestions that the show might premiere as early as summer.
