Rockstar Games' much-anticipated follow-up to its 2010 action western is barely two months away from release. “Red Dead Redemption 2” will be the latest open-world action gaming installment from the New York-based publisher since “Grand Theft Auto V's” 2013 release and “L.A. Noire's” 2011 release.
The two-month deadline means that fans of the “Red Dead Redemption” franchise have less time to mull over getting one of “Red Dead Redemption 2's” premium packages to get content and freebies exclusive to the sequel's launch.
Fans who pre-order “Red Dead Redemption 2” will get the exclusive War Horse mount alongside an Outlaw Survival Kit. The two items are not merely cosmetic additions to the game, with the War Horse having better stamina than the regular game's mounts. The Outlaw Survival Kit, on the other hand, will give pre-order players an extra edge that helps them replenish their health and abilities more often than regular players.
The stars of the pre-order bundles come in the “Red Dead Redemption 2” Special Edition and Ultimate Edition of the game, with both editions of the game providing additional vanity items such as outfits and mounts, as well as free access to additional weapons such the Volcanic Pistol, the Pump Action Shotgun, and the Lancaster Varmint Rifle.
While all previous editions mentioned above are available for digital pre-orders, truly dedicated fans will focus on pre-ordering the “Red Dead Redemption 2” Collector's Box. Aside from getting exclusive digital content for the game, fans who purchase the Collector's Box get souvenirs such as a bandit's bandana, a deck of playing cards commemorating the Van der Linde gang, a double-sided puzzle, a pin set, 12 cigarette cards, a couple of pamphlets featuring some institutions from the game, and the beautiful metal tithing box with lock and key that all the previously mentioned items are stored in.
With the release of “Red Dead Redemption 2” closing in, Rockstar Games has already ramped up their marketing campaign for the game. Billboards have been unveiled in public in the New York area alongside a gameplay trailer campaign for the game. Fans can look forward to “Red Dead Redemption 2” being officially released on Oct. 26.
