Qualcomm Unveils Enhanced AI Power for Mobile Chips
On Monday, Qualcomm announced that it is enhancing the computational capability of its mobile phone chips for artificial intelligence generative tasks by transferring technology originally created for its laptop chips to them.
It has been reported by US News that the company situated in San Diego is the largest seller of mobile phone processors in the entire world.
Apple Engineers Join to Elevate AI in Qualcomm's Chips
In 2021, the firm recruited a number of engineers who had previously worked for Apple to assist with the construction of laptop processors. These chips are now available for purchase and are assisting with the powering of artificial intelligence elements in Microsoft's Windows.
The customized computing technology that Qualcomm has dubbed "Oryon" is now being included into the company's mobile phone processors for the very first time. This technology was produced by the team that was responsible for the development of the technology.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Reengineered for Generative AI
Additionally, the Snapdragon 8 Elite has had its internal components redesigned by the company to better manage operations like picture and text generation.

Samsung, Xiaomi Among First to Adopt Qualcomm’s New AI Chips
"AI has been one of those areas where I think Google is moving fast, but we have our own technology to offer that end developer," stated Chris Patrick, senior vice president and general manager for mobile handsets at Qualcomm, in an interview with Reuters.
