SEATTLE, Aug. 10, 2017 -- Product Creation Studio, a Seattle-based product development firm, announced today that it has added Christine (Chrissy) Glaister as lead Usability Engineer. Chrissy joins the company’s Mechanical Engineering team to bring structured user-centered design and engineering processes to client programs, and to ensure compliance with FDA guidelines and international standards.
Chrissy Glaister has over a decade of product development experience focused on medical technology. With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chrissy also has deep experience as a Quality Engineer working on many FDA-compliant development projects. Most recently, Chrissy pioneered the Usability Engineering discipline at Stratos Product Development. She has participated in the development of a variety of products including diagnostic devices, drug delivery devices, implantable devices, wearable medical sensors and mobile health applications.
“While Product Creation Studio has always emphasized the importance of user-centric design,” Cameron Smith, CEO of Product Creation Studio said, “by applying Usability Engineering to our client programs, we are able to reduce project risk and develop better products. Chrissy’s skill-set is a perfect complement to our existing, full-service product development services.”
Usability Engineering is the process of understanding a product’s users, intended use and use environments, and applying that knowledge to the development of new products. That understanding drives product requirements and provides many benefits including reduced time to market, reduced project risk, reduced development costs, increased sales and wide market adoption.
