More than a year since its confirmation, “Prison Break” season 6 is seemingly still in the very early stages of production. On a good note, there is a good chance that “Lucifer's” new star, Inbar Lavi, would reprise her role in the upcoming Fox series installment.
Lavi played the character of Sheba in “Prison Break” season 5. She is one of the new cast members that took on a main character role in the revival season. And now that the talks about “Prison Break” season 6 are up, reports are expecting Fox to gather the main cast once more including Lavi.
Unfortunately, there are still no definitive details about the cast and plot of “Prison Break” season 6. However, Digital Spy recalls executive producer is confident that the main cast will be on board to reprise their roles in the much-awaited sequel. “If the right storyline comes along, I am sure the gang would be back to do it again,” the EP said.
With that, several familiar faces will most likely be back for “Prison Break” season 6. That could include Lavi, Wentworth Miller as Michael Scofield, Dominic Purcell as Lincoln Burrows, Sarah Wayne Callies as Sara Tancredi-Scofield, Rockmond Dunbar as C-Note, Robert Knepper as T-Bag, and Amaury Nolasco as Sucre among others.
Lavi’s Sheba is a notable female character in season 5. She leads an underground resistance movement against forces of ISIL in Yemen. The actress also spoke highly of her character and told Bravo TV's The Daily Dish in 2017, “It is a crucial, highly important story that we have to share with the world. We have to give these people a voice now more than ever, and I am so, so, so delighted and proud to be able to be that voice for them.”
Fan-favorite character Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner) was a no-show in season 5. However, there are still speculations that he could be brought back in “Prison Break” season 6. Unfortunately, Knepper told fans at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con that series creator Paul Scheuring simply ran out of story arcs for Mahone.
At this point, fans can only hold on to Purcell's words that “Prison Break” season 6 is still in the pipeline. However, they might need more patience as they likely have not started filming yet. This means the sequel’s release date could now be looking at a slot in 2020 or later.
