Prince Harry a 'No-Show' in King Charles' Upcoming Birthday; Royals Reportedly Still Not Talking

King Charles and Prince Harry are reportedly not on speaking terms.

King Charles and the other members of the royal family are still not on speaking terms with Prince Harry, who is expected to be a no-show when the British monarch celebrates his 75th birthday next week.

King Charles, Prince Harry Are Still Not Talking

Buckingham Palace declined to comment, citing the royal schism as the "elephant in the room" for courtiers, but it is known that King Charles and Prince Harry have not talked since the late Queen Elizabeth's burial last September, per Express UK.

Royal sources suggested neither the monarch nor the majority of Harry's family have forgiven him for criticizing them on television and in his memoir, “Spare,” published in January. “There’s no sign of a rapprochement yet. It’s too soon. But time is a great healer,” an unnamed insider claimed.

Prince Harry was reportedly asked to join the rest of the family at Clarence House for a birthday celebration to commemorate King Charles’ three-quarter century on November 14, but he is said to have declined.

It was the same in September when he returned to the United Kingdom on the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's death. There was a tepid invitation to join the family in Balmoral for a private party, but he preferred to honor the occasion by visiting St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on September 8.

Prince Harry Told Friends He’s Not Returning to The UK

Prince Harry has reportedly informed pals that he has no intentions to return to the U.K. anytime soon and is focused on his new life in America. A Christmas journey to Sandringham appears to be out of the question at the moment. Because of his brother's unfair assaults on him and Kate Middleton in “Spare,” Harry's brother, Prince William, is much less keen to heal relations at the time.

Although Prince Andrew's children, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, have maintained contact with their cousin, most of the rest of the family is similarly averse to reconciliation for the time being.

They all sympathized when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were going through a difficult time since nearly every member of the family had encountered criticism from the press and public at some point in their lives. But when Harry and Meghan debuted their Netflix series last year and then the Duke of Sussex wrote his memoir bashing his family in January, that sympathy vanished.

“There is the sense of a cooling-off period from the family that is under way after the aftershocks of the book and the interviews. But that doesn't change the King's love for his son. He'll never not invite his son to a family gathering, because that's not who he is,” one tipster told The Sunday Times.

Meanwhile, King Charles is claimed to be overjoyed that Rishi Sunak has cleared the way for him to speak at the UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai, in stark contrast to his predecessor Liz Truss' decision to bar him from attending Cop27 in Egypt a year ago.

"He's putting into practice the theory he always hoped would be possible: that as monarch you can play a role on the global stage and still champion the causes you care about, without upsetting the constitutional red lines. He's enjoying it,” an informant close to King Charles stated.
