Hyde Park, New York, Jan. 23, 2018 --
The Office of Presidential Libraries seeks a creative media technology company to design, develop, install and service new permanent installations at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library (FDRL) in Hyde Park, New York. This library attracts nearly 200,000 visitors per year and this installation will become a permanent fixture to emphasize the importance of archival records. The deadline to submit an offer for the contract is February 20, 2018.
The new installation will feature visitor center tables and an interactive map room. The specifications for the projects are listed on the government’s solicitation found on FBO.gov, but in general some important considerations follow:
- The Visitor Center Tables Installation should require a maximum of 150 square feet, will contain two monitors, general information about the Library and some content will be provided by the Library.
- The Map Room Gallery Interactive touch walls will be wall-mounted in a room measuring 400 square feet, displaying an interactive, zoomable, chronological collection of maps that show the movement of Allied and Axis forces in the days leading up to D-Day and for a period after D-Day. Content will be provided by the contractor.
This contract will have a base period of performance of one year, with options to extend the contract an additional two years. The contractor should be considering in their pricing offer that the government will pay some travel costs and image licensing costs. The contractor will be responsible for attending six face-to-face meetings with the FDRL Content Team. During the technical support phase of the project, the contractor will be responsible for at least two scheduled preventative maintenance onsite inspections.
The solicitation is extensive and questions can be addressed to the contracting officer, Tyrice Buie, via email at [email protected] by February 6. If companies have any questions about submitting the best possible offer to the government to obtain the contract they can contact a third-party registration firm such as US Federal Contractor Registration. Since, non-pricing factors when combined contain more value to the contracting officer than just the best possible price, assistance for successful bidding is highly recommended.
US Federal Contractor Registration (USFCR) is the world’s largest third-party government registration firm. They not only register companies on their behalf in the government's mandatory System for Award Management, but also have pioneered the Advanced Procurement Portal (APP). APP provides active and historical federal business opportunity information and a list of active federal buyers and vendors. The synthesis of this data will simplify the federal procurement process for businesses who may then dedicate their complete effort toward their performance on the contract instead of the acquisition of it. APP also includes a built-in Learning Center designed by industry professionals so that newcomers to the federal sector can efficiently locate opportunities and effectively bid on them.
