ISELIN, N.J., March 22, 2016 -- Pinelands Water Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Middlesex Water Company (NASDAQ:MSEX) has been named the provider of the “Best Tasting” Water in New Jersey at the annual NJ Section American Water Works Association (AWWA) Conference in Atlantic City, NJ. The Pinelands Water Company produces water from four wells drilled into the Mt. Laurel-Wenonah aquifer.
The AWWA NJ Section represents over 1,750 members united in a mission to provide New Jersey residents with a safe and reliable supply of drinking water. Members include most of New Jersey’s public and investor-owned water utilities along with engineering and environmental professionals and allied industry businesses.
Pinelands Water competed against numerous municipal and investor-owned utilities who submitted samples to vie for the title of state’s best tasting water. Conference attendees served as judges participating in a blind taste test to determine the winner. As a result of winning the state competition, Pinelands Water will be traveling to Chicago, IL to compete in the AWWA’s Best of the Best taste competition at AWWA’s Annual Conference and Exposition in June 2016.
“Water service provided by Pinelands Water is critical to the health, well-being and quality of life of our customers,” said Richard M. Risoldi, President, Pinelands Water Company. “We congratulate the staff at Pinelands who are responsible for protecting, treating and maintaining a consistently high level of quality water service that not only surpasses stringent health and safety standards but tastes great too,” added Risoldi.
Pinelands Water provides water services to approximately 2,500 residential customers in Burlington County, New Jersey.
