CHICAGO, Oct. 30, 2017 -- In the third quarter of 2017, four healthcare organizations extended their Paragon agreements with Allscripts (NASDAQ:MDRX) to have predictable technology costs, move IT operations to a secure data environment and enable their IT resources to focus on optimization. Allscripts will help these providers deliver better quality for patients and establish a stable infrastructure for continuous improvements across these organizations.
The KPC Group hospitals, located in Southern California, furthered their investment in Paragon®, OneContent™ and other associated solutions by selecting remote hosting and adding additional years of maintenance via a bundled offering. The organization comprises a group of integrated healthcare delivery centers consisting of acute care hospitals, Independent Physicians Associations (IPAs), medical groups and ancillary facilities. The KPC Group serves one of California’s most densely populated areas in the Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties - totaling nearly 10 million patients.
Tailored to meet health systems’ specific technology needs, these bundled agreements include remote hosting capabilities, maintenance, upgrades and services for the Allscripts application suite, including Paragon, OneContent and other associated solutions. They also include Meaningful Use Stage 3 services and assistance to migrate clients from on-premise data centers to a remote hosting data center. Selecting a bundled agreement extension will enable clients to remain current on the latest software code and frees their on-site resources to spend more time on optimizing their solutions for end users while Allscripts manages their technical environment.
“The KPC Group is delighted to move forward with Allscripts, a trusted global leader in healthcare,” said The KPC Group Executive Vice President, Finance, Kali Priyo Chaudhuri. “Our partnership with Allscripts will best position us to continue our mission of delivering high-quality patient care to the people of Southern California.”
“As we continue to deliver solutions that address our industry’s evolution to quality and the changes in how and where patients receive care, we’re honored to continue serving the multiple Paragon clients that have recently extended their commitment to these great solutions," said Allscripts Chief Executive Officer, Paul M. Black. “This momentum further bolsters our confidence in Allscripts’ ability to meet the strategic needs of a broader range of hospital and health systems. We are proud to be a trusted, premier health IT solutions provider to all former McKesson clients, including our new Paragon clients.”
