This year, over 200 players and volunteers came out for an exciting day of golf and to raise funds for cancer victims and their families. Contributions from the October 20, 2017 event totaled $50,875. With PSI's 100% matching donation, a record-breaking total of $101,750 was donated. Of this amount, $58,199 was donated to the LLS, and $43,551 was donated to Special Love. The checks were presented to the charities by CEO Terry Lin at PSI’s Holiday Party at the Sheraton Pentagon on December 9th.
Special Love CEO Dave Smith said, “Special Love has been so fortunate to benefit from PSI’s annual golf outing and this year was no different. Like many non-profits, we’re always trying to ‘do more with less.’ Because PSI does all the work on such an outstanding event, we can utilize our staff to provide direct services to the young cancer patients and their families who attend our programs.”
"In this season of giving, we couldn’t be happier about the continued success of PSI’s Charity Golf Tournament over the past 20 years,” said CEO Terry Lin. “Our mission has always been to bring together our Government customers, partners and colleagues to raise money for a wonderful cause. Thank you to our golfers who came together, had a lot of fun, and raised more than ever before so that we could make a difference in the lives of children and adults who are battling cancer.”
