SAN ANTONIO, Nov. 10, 2017 -- In honor of Veterans Day, Tito’s Handmade Vodka is partnering with Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit that provides financial assistance and support to military families throughout the country. The two Texas-based companies are inviting people to give back to military families this holiday season as part of the “Be a Giver, Raise a Tito’s” campaign.
From now through January 3, Tito’s Handmade Vodka will match donations to Operation Homefront of $5 or greater dollar for dollar, up to $100,000. Fans can participate by contributing to the ongoing Crowdrise campaign. Another way fans can participate is by texting the keyword “TITOSHOLIDAY” to 811811 and selecting Operation Homefront, where Tito will donate $1 for every text up to $150,000. For every text and Crowdrise contribution received, Tito’s Handmade Vodka will enter fans in a raffle to win an “ugly” sweater for them or their dog. Up to 1,000 winners will be selected with each program (Crowdrise & Text-in) at the end of the campaign.
“We are grateful for the support of Tito’s Handmade Vodka to help honor veterans and active military members, and there’s no better time to announce this collaboration than on Veterans Day,” said Brig. Gen. (ret.) Robert Thomas, chief operating officer for Operation Homefront. “With the help of our generous partners, we’ve provided assistance to thousands of military families, and thanks to Tito’s and their customers we’ll help even more. The needs of junior- and mid-grade enlisted service members can be especially urgent during the holiday season, and this partnership will help military families thrive in the communities they’ve worked so hard to protect.”
“While Veterans Day is an incredible time to honor soldiers past and present, our soldiers work hard year round to support the community and the least we can do is help make sure their families are taken care of during the holiday season,” said Frank Polley, Vice President Trade Marketing at Tito's Handmade Vodka. “Operation Homefront embodies all of the characteristics we strive for in nonprofit partnerships, and we couldn’t be happier to join forces on this mission.”
Since its inception, Operation Homefront has provided more than $22 million in critical financial assistance to nearly 15,000 military families across the U.S. The organization is currently accepting nominations for their annual 2018 Military Child of the Year ® Award, an honor for military children who have overcome the challenges of military life in the classroom and within their community.
