OnePlus is expected to announce at least one more mid-range device this year, and its design may have already leaked recently. Supposed renders of the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 have leaked online, and it looks very similar to the flagship OnePlus 9.
OnePlus Nord 2 design, specs
The latest leak on OnePlus Nord 2 comes from reliable source Steve Hemmerstoffer, also known as OnLeaks, showing that the upcoming device will share a similar appearance with the OnePlus 9. Some of the biggest similarities are shown in the rear-facing camera bump. It houses three lenses and an LED flash, albeit missing the Hasselblad logo.
The leaked OnePlus Nord 2, however, only shows a single lens for selfies in a hole punch in the upper-left corner of the display. The size of the bezels also seems similar to the OnePlus 9, but there may still some differences once the mid-range phone officially launches. The upcoming device is likely to retain an under-display fingerprint scanner since there is now a rear-mounted sensor seen in the renders.

In an earlier exclusive report, 91Mobiles revealed some of the technical specifications expected on the OnePlus Nord 2. The list includes a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, which is the same as its predecessor but slightly smaller than the OnePlus 9. A 90Hz refresh rate is still expected in the upcoming mid-range phone, but a bigger battery with 4,500mAh capacity was listed in the leak.
OnePlus Nord 2 is expected to launch with two configurations – 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB + 256GB. It is also rumored to have fewer cameras, as shown in the render, but with a slight improvement in the main lens. The device might sport 50MP (likely a Sony IMX766 component), 8MP, and 2MP lenses.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip is anticipated to power OnePlus Nord 2. That means 5G network could be a standard feature of the device.
OnePlus Nord 2 release date
It is worth noting that OnePlus Nord 2 is not the same as the OnePlus Nord Core Edition, which the company announced recently. The upcoming device, considering its specs and design, seems to be poised as its “flagship” mid-range device.
The OnePlus Nord 2, per the same leaks, is expected to be priced around RMB 2,000 (~$309). The device is expected to be announced in July.
