Novolyze is a food biotechnology company focusing on evaluating food, beverage and animal food processing equipment for pathogen inactivation. Novolyze is already recognized for its innovative range of dry, ready-to-use surrogate microorganisms for use during in-plant validation studies to comply with FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Preventive Controls for Human Food and Animal Food regulations. They recently announced the launch of a new cutting-edge tool: NovoGate.
Unique in food and feed research and development, NovoGate is a thermal, pilot test system using a connected technological platform to evaluate a wide range of sterilization solutions. With NovoGate, Novolyze further augments its objective to implement standardized approaches in evaluating thermal inactivation of foodborne pathogens using surrogate microorganisms. NovoGate is configured to test the resistance of pathogens to different kinds of stress, including temperature, pressure and steam. NovoGate is set-up in a BSL2 lab, at Novolyze's R&D Center in France, with the ability to perform test runs including such pathogens as Salmonella, Cronobacter sakazakii, Escherichia coli and Listeria.
With NovoGate, the objective of Novolyze is not only to accelerate the development of its range of surrogate microorganisms but also to bring to its partners an innovative solution to improve control of microbiological hazards in food.
Jena Roberts, VP Business Development for Novolyze: "The first projects involving NovoGate are expected to start at the beginning of this year. With this cutting-edge technological platform, Novolyze confirms its capacity to innovate. We expect NovoGate to become a reference tool in helping our partners address some of their major food safety challenges".
