Navneet Gupta may come from very humble beginnings in India, but he’s a perfect example of a person with strong perseverance. Before he had even completed his post-secondary education, a bright future was beckoning with bigger opportunities. He is an ambitious man who not only has a strong IT mind but also a masterful ability to lead. He has successfully spearheaded major technology & digital transformation initiatives for global organizations. With over 20 years of experience in IT leadership and program management, he has made his mark in this highly competitive industry – and he’s not even slightly interested in taking early retirement.
Navneet completed his university studies at Delhi College of Engineering, which is one of the top engineering schools in India. He was already catching eyes of companies while still an undergraduate, and was recruited for a position with River Run Software even before he was out of college. After working with them for three and a half years as a Systems Designer, he went on to work with GlobalLogic as an Engineering Specialist. Through these two roles, Navneet gained a wealth of understanding with respect to the dynamics in the constantly changing IT industry. He was able to bridge the gap between technology and business operations for highly reputable corporations such as SONY, Scholastic, Fred Meyer, Advance Auto Parts and Hanes, showcasing his skills as an engineer while also leading technology teams on many of his projects.
Diversified Leadership Across the Tech Industry
Navneet’s first significant role in leadership was with FranConnect (the leading franchise management software provider) as the Director of Engineering. Navneet was the driving force behind their web-based service management software product line, Service314. He also worked with their mobile business team, managing and delivering two successful applications from inception to implementation on both Android & iOS platforms.
His determination to tackle new challenges charted the course of his career to a leadership position with Sinch AB, this time as the Vice President of Engineering. As a trusted global provider of multi-channel mobile messaging solutions, Sinch works with over 650 large businesses across diverse verticals and is a preferred partner of the banking industry. Navneet was the Engineering Head for the team that developed the flagship product for Sinch, and went on to partner with leading financial institutions of India such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IndusInd Bank. He led the engineering team for the “Enterprise Messaging” division with complete ownership for project delivery and end-to-end product management.
Next, he took on the executive role of Director, Architecture at Bed Bath & Beyond, which is one of the largest domestic retailers in the US and features prominently in the Fortune 500 & Forbes Global 2000 list of companies. He was the technical oversight for both their Web Operations and Site Optimization teams, and steered them towards achieving superior performance, operational efficiency and system reliability. He utilized advanced strategies & instrumentation mechanisms to enhance the observability of the ecommerce website and improve the overall omnichannel customer experience.
Ready to take on a new sector of the industry and renowned for his expertise in high-tech, Navneet’s next chapter brought him to Apptio – a leading provider of cloud-based Technology Business Management (TBM) software – where he worked as the Director of Engineering.
Time for a Change - Verita Software is born
For Navneet, life is all about learning and growing. He will never be satisfied with stagnation and, similar to his approach with businesses, he is committed to pushing himself to new boundaries. Change might be uncomfortable for some, but for Navneet, it is nothing more than an opportunity for growth. He uses it to catalyze his ventures. For example, the Covid-19 pandemic has been a struggle for many – and yet, once again, Navneet was able to use this unprecedented challenge to evolve the way we work and to catapult his career to new heights.
He recently co-founded Verita Software, a B2B software company that provides IT services in the healthcare domain. The company’s AI-powered platform uses predictive analytics to assist providers with actionable insights that aid them in decision-making & improving patient outcomes.
Predictive analytics is fundamentally life-changing for the healthcare industry, as it enables providers to stay a step ahead of the curve in terms of patient care. Providers can now quickly analyze data and make informed choices about how to proceed with a decision before the medical condition becomes chronic and expensive to cure. Navneet strives to take Verita Software to the top of a very competitive industry by putting his customers first. “If our customers succeed, we all do” – he shares.
Navneet explains: “The Electronic Health Record (EHR) is a valuable hub for information and a key tool for communication across care teams. When predictive analytics & machine learning are applied to EHR data, healthcare providers can access powerful clinical decision support systems that can not only help catch human errors, but also prevent costly adverse events.”
In addition, predictive tools are in high demand among hospital executives who are looking to reduce variation and gain more actionable insights into ordering patterns and supply utilization, as this is one of the most significant opportunities for healthcare organizations to trim unnecessary spending and improve efficiency. We now find ourselves in the third year of a global health pandemic, and the need for this technology is higher than ever before. Of course, there is no greater test of one’s leadership skills than starting your own business – guiding and inspiring people with new service offerings – and Navneet has already proven himself with that.
With such an impressive and varied track record of strategic leadership, Navneet Gupta could have easily quit while he’s ahead. However, his strong work ethic and desire for both personal and professional growth continue to drive him with absolutely no signs of slowing down.
Navneet definitely knows how to stay true to his motto: “Achievements are only a testimony of continuous hard work and sustained efforts.”
Thanks to his technical guidance and insightful leadership, a highly diverse set of companies have already surpassed their growth objectives. In fact, his work was recently recognized with the honor of memberships to the prestigious invite-only Forbes Technology Council, as well as the acclaimed Leaders Excellence at Harvard Square. Furthermore, he was selected as a member of the Stevie Awards Judging Committee for the 2022 Edition of "New Product & Technology Awards" and the "COVID-19 Response & Solution Provider Awards".
The first two decades of his career have taken him across many industries to the top tier of IT leadership, and we are eager to see what the future will bring for Navneet.
