At the corner of Preston and Campbell roads in North Dallas, the first Texas location of McDonald's spin-off concept, CosMc's, officially opened its doors to the public on March 19, 2024. The innovative concept focuses heavily on drinks, particularly coffee-based beverages. McDonald's revealed this new drink-centric concept last December with the initial CosMc's opening in Bolingbrook, Ill.
USA Today reported that nine more pilot locations between Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio are being planned following the North Dallas launch.
North Dallas Location Unveiled
According to Dallas News, Despite being shrouded in secrecy for months, the North Dallas CosMc's location has finally been revealed. Anticipation built up as blue tarps concealed the building's signage, keeping the opening date a mystery. Company representatives remained tight-lipped in response to inquiries about the location and its launch timeline in January and March. However, the area is now operational, offering patrons an array of whimsical drinks and shakes.
CosMc's expansion plans include upcoming Allen and Fort Worth locations following the North Dallas launch. Filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations indicate that a CosMc's drive-through is set to be constructed in Allen near Stacey Road, adjacent to the recently opened Portillo's. Another CosMc's is slated for Fort Worth at McPherson Boulevard and Summer Creek Drive, with completion expected by June 2024.
Unique Offerings and Interior Aesthetic
CosMc's sets itself apart by focusing on an extensive range of coffee-based beverages and offering a unique interior design that pays homage to the classic McDonald's look while infusing modern and whimsical elements. The interior features playful seating arrangements, vibrant colors, and interactive digital menus, creating an inviting atmosphere for young patrons and adults.
While emphasizing coffee, the menu also includes a variety of teas, smoothies, and artisanal shakes aimed at appealing to diverse taste preferences. Each drink is customizable, allowing customers to explore various flavors and combinations.
