The Mid-March short interest represents 4.57 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.05 days for the prior reporting period.
Short interest in 753 securities on The Nasdaq Capital MarketSM totaled 752,921,373 shares at the end of the settlement date of March 15, 2016 compared with 761,337,579 shares in 749 securities for the previous reporting period. This represents 5.05 days average daily volume, compared with the previous reporting period’s figure of 3.75.
In summary, short interest in all 3,051 Nasdaq® securities totaled 9,003,782,669 shares at the March 15, 2016 settlement date, compared with 3,045 issues and 9,068,256,795 shares at the end of the previous reporting period. This is 4.61 days average daily volume, compared with an average of 4.03 days for the previous reporting period.
