NYSE veteran Eric Scro joins cryptocurrency startup Coinbase

Crypto exchange startup Coinbase has announced the appointment of New York Stock Exchange veteran Eric Scro as Vice President of Finance.

Scro spent the last 8.5 years at the NYSE, most recently serving as the Head of Finance. An industry veteran, Scro brings over 18 years of experience in Finance to the company. He has held a variety of hands-on and leadership roles in financial planning and analysis, investor relations, investment banking, and accounting. His background includes transaction and subscription business models driven by volume-based, technology and data businesses at industry leading companies.

“We are growing our institutional business rapidly and Eric’s experience and leadership will be invaluable in scaling the business and building out our New York office,” Coinbase said.

In his role as VP of Finance, Scro will be focused on helping serve institutional clients and deal with the increasingly complex financial and regulatory requirements of the business. In addition, he will also help guide the New York office’s growth across multiple business functions and assist in the development of new product offerings like Coinbase Custody.

Earlier this week, Coinbase appointed former LinkedIn executive Emilie Choi as Vice President of Corporate and Business Development. The company also announced Coinbase Index Fund, which will give investors exposure to all digital assets listed on GDAX exchange, weighted by market capitalization.
