Leading cryptocurrency company Coinbase has announced that former LinkedIn executive Emilie Choi is joining the company as Vice President of Corporate and Business Development.
With over 17 years of professional experience, Choi will help Coinbase venture into markets and opportunities globally by leveraging acquisitions, strategic investments and partnerships. Coinbase said that Choi will be focused on scaling the company globally, seeking out world-class acquisition and partnership opportunities, and managing strategic projects. She will oversee Corporate Development, Business Development and Business Operations for the company.
Choi is joining from LinkedIn, where she served as LinkedIn’s Vice President of Corporate Development. During her tenure, she oversaw more than 40 transactions, including the acquisitions of Lynda, Bright, Newsle, Connectifier, Slideshare and Fliptop, as well as LinkedIn’s JV in China and strategic investments in Cornerstone On Demand and G2 Crowd.
In addition, she has also worked in Corporate Development as well as Digital Business Strategy and Operations at Warner Bros. During her stint at Yahoo!, Choi advised the senior management team and executed numerous transactions, including Flickr and Yahoo’s original investment in Alibaba.
