Coca-Cola and Crypto.com announced their partnership to celebrate the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. in collaboration with digital artist GMUNK, the companies are releasing FIFA-inspired NFTs of non-fungible tokens.
Coca-Cola and Crypto.com are set to release 10,000 unique NFTs that will be created by GMUNK based on the FIFA players' heat maps from the game matches. This shows the movements of the players as well as their game highlights. They will also explore memorable scenes and moments of the World Cup Qatar and produce non-fungible tokens using those for inspiration.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup NFT artwork collection has been named the Coca-Cola “Piece of Magic” NFT. As per CryptoPotato, fans can access the digital art collection through registration and by creating an account on the Crypto.com platform. The next step is to visit Coca-Cola’s fan zone page, where they can mint a token.
This fan zone is a digital hub for the ongoing FIFA World Cup, and it will offer various experiences to fans who will register. They will have a chance to join games and see special moments to remember during the matches.
Fans can also interact with each other in real-time while the game is in play. They will also see predictions, pledges, and leaderboards on the platform. But then again, even if everyone can sign-up, it was noted that the offers are only available for those living in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.
“At its core, Coca-Cola ‘Piece of Magic’ uses football data as our paintbrush, defining densities, behaviors and applications of color to shape and create an immersive piece of art that embraces the spirit of football and depicts a visual story unique to each match,” Gmunk commented about the new NFT collection via a press release.
The Coca-Cola Company’s FIFA World Cup general manager, Nazli Berberoglu, also said that “The FIFA World Cup in Qatar is about bringing magical moments to life on and off the pitch for millions of fans from the region and beyond.”
The GM further added that the collaboration with GMUNK is an incredible thing as fans will be able to see “10,000 stunning and unique ‘Pieces of Magic’ in the form of NFTs available for fans to own forever.”
