Chicago, IL, June 16, 2017 -- Mérieux NutriSciences, a global food safety and quality partner offering testing, labeling, auditing, consulting, sensory, training, and research services to the food industry, has formally formed a Scientific Advisory Council dedicated to staying on the forefront of science and technology in the food safety, quality, and testing arenas. The group is a collective of leaders in the food industry, as well as senior management and scientists at Mérieux NutriSciences, and will contribute valuable insight on the industry, customer, and consumer trends from an external vantage point.
“Being able to leverage the years of knowledge and expertise that was available in one room at one time, was powerful. Ultimately, our goal is to be able to build a network of people who can collaborate on the challenges facing our customers and work together to form a solution,” says North American President Jim Miller.
The Scientific Advisory Council had their first meeting in late April at Mérieux NutriSciences’ Dr. John H. Silliker Solutions Center in Crete, IL. “Because Dr. Silliker upheld such a strong scientific legacy in the food industry, hosting the first meeting at our Crete lab named in his honor seemed appropriate,” states Miller. Presentations led to powerful discussions related to recent industry news and administration impact surrounding whole genome sequencing, clean labeling, and GMOs. The group will continue to meet periodically to move forward the council’s initiative to enhance the education and advancement of food safety and quality in the United States.
Special thanks to our entire Scientific Advisory Council, whose support and loyalty to food safety and quality will make this effort a success that will affect the entire industry.
