The Trumps have been under public scrutiny, even more, these past few days due to the war threats on Iran. First Lady Melania Trump and her son Barron Trump are also taking some heat for it, and recently, netizens have noticed the rather sullen expression on Barron’s face.
The Trump family recently spent their new year’s celebrations at the Mar-a-Lago resort. Express reports that upon their arrival at Washington, the family greeted US military personnel before transferring from Air Force One to Marine One. Netizens on social media commented on Barron’s height as he is now taller than his father, and his sad expression while he shook hands with the military staff before he joined his parents to the helicopter.
Some commented on how Barron always looks sad. One netizen commented that someone should “rescue him before he ends up like his half-brothers,” referring to Don Jr. and Eric Trump.
This is in light of the recent threats and strikes made by the United States on Iran. Everyone’s fears of a possible World War 3 grew as the US military killed Qassem Soleimani, the country’s second-most powerful military commander upon traveling to Baghdad. Soleimani was with the anti-ISIS paramilitary chief Abu Madhi al-Muhandis. The US Department of Defense claimed that he was the mastermind behind the attacks on US targets, causing many Americans as casualties.
Meanwhile, Express also reports that Melania’s comments during a previous interview with Dejour magazine have been brought up once again. MSNBS host Chris Matthews made a comment on the now-First Lady’s robotic demeanor during the 2016 elections. In the article with the magazine, Melania said “Unbelievable. That’s what I’m saying! I’m not only a beauty. I’m smart. I have brains. I’m intelligent. I would say men will be men.”
Melania also shared what she thought about being married to someone as successful as Donald Trump. She said, “You need somebody who will tell him the truth. Somebody smart, you know it’s not like I’m there and I’m just doing things for him.”
Her previous comments resurfaced, to which netizens made fun of. One netizen pointed out that if somebody has to say they are smart, it would usually mean otherwise and that Melania is insecure. Other netizens immediately drew comparisons between her and the previous First Lady Michelle Obama, who is known for her very down-to-earth nature.
