Melania Trump update: FLOTUS reiterates the importance of wearing face masks

Experts have advised Americans to wear protective face coverings or masks especially in public places where a lot of people go to. First Lady Melania Trump once again reiterated the importance of this measure, following vice president Mike Pence’s controversial visit to the Mayo clinic.

The Daily Mail reports that Melania reminded Americans to wear face masks and continue practicing social distancing even as the government prepares to reopen the country and lift the lockdown. The First Lady took to Twitter to post her reminder. “As some states start to slowly open businesses, please be sure to check CDC guidelines, continue to practice social distancing & wear a face cover. We need to make sure we slowly get back to normal while still fighting to keep the virus suppressed,” tweeted Melania.

The First Lady has previously stressed this measure on social media, even sharing a photo of herself wearing a face mask. She has also shared the guidelines from the CDC to her followers on Twitter. She has stressed wearing a face mask despite her husband Donald Trump’s refusal to wear one. Melania has also reached out to her fellow First Ladies and discussed their respective handling of the coronavirus crisis. Even though the White House Easter Egg Roll was cancelled this year due to the pandemic, Melania decided to do an online reading of an Easter book in keeping with that part of the tradition.

Her reminder came after vice president Mike Pence was under fire for visiting the Mayo clinic without wearing a mask. The guidelines at the hospital stated that people were to wear face masks or face covers.

Meanwhile, the First Lady has stepped into the role three years ago in 2017, and body language expert Judi James revealed how her body language has changed since assuming the title. After examining pictures of Melania alongside her husband, James explained that the First Lady previously focused on looking beautiful. “Her smile was perfectly executed but rigid enough to hint at the effort involved...Her poses here lacked spontaneity and in many ways personality leakage,” explained James.

Aside from doing her usual model poses, Melania also appeared to be happy enough to step back and let her husband get all the attention.
