Russian fast-food operator Vkusno & Tochka has applied for trademark registration in Kazakhstan following McDonald's exit from its market, according to the Kazakh government said.
McDonald's had prohibited its Kazakh licensee from buying beef supplies from Russia.
Due to trouble replacing the Russian suppliers, both parties terminated their agreement this month.
McDonald's closed its Russian restaurants soon after Moscow invaded Ukraine last February, eventually selling them to a local licensee, Alexander Govor, who unveiled the Vkusno & Tochka brand in June.
