Although McDonald’s remains the top fast-food chain in the U.S., the company has faced a challenging year, falling short of analysts’ expectations in the last two quarters. According to McDonald’s latest earnings report, global comparable sales dropped by 1%, net revenues remained flat, and U.S. sales declined by 0.7% compared to the previous year.
Rather than remain passive in declining sales, McDonald’s acted quickly, reaching out to Krispy Kreme, another leading brand in the breakfast sector.

Given the success of both companies, it was only a matter of time before McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme joined forces. In October 2022, McDonald’s first tested a partnership by selling Krispy Kreme donuts for a limited time in nine restaurants across Louisville and nearby areas.
