Florida group backs London street circuit with potential for F1

Both 777 Partners and the UK group have been in talks with Formula One about adding a London Grand Prix to the series’ calendar.

Florida-based investment firm 777 Partners and a UK sports group working to gain approval for the construction of a street race circuit at the Royal Docks in London, with the potential to host a Formula One race.

Both 777 Partners and the UK group have been in talks with Formula One about adding a London Grand Prix to the series’ calendar.

The proposal has the backing of London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who aims to bring a Formula One race to the capital during his term.

The plan also aligns with Khan’s project to run a potential London Grand Prix as a carbon-neutral event, where spectators can only travel via public transport.

Josh Wander, the founder of 777 Partners, said the world-class sports and entertainment complex they plan to build can serve the community year-round and revitalize the surrounding areas.

Wander added that while the project brings short-term excitement of a world-class race limited to the world’s premier cities, it creates a sustainable long-term impact for the community and the surrounding areas and completely reinvigorate and transforms the community.

The 777 Partners' intention is for the London race to become a second Formula One Grand Prix for the UK, not a replacement for the Silverstone event.
