(NYSE: RST) Company, today announced that Lexia Reading Core5® has been recognized by WIDA as satisfying all 44 criteria under the WIDA PRIME V2 Correlation for English Language Development Standards. This designation provides further credibility for Lexia’s research-proven instructional literacy program, which is currently used by more than 2.6 million students, and has been shown to help ELL students close the academic gap.

WIDA is a consortium of more than 30 states dedicated to the design and implementation of high academic standards for English language learners (ELLs). The WIDA PRIME V2 Correlation is designed to assist educators in making informed decisions about selecting instructional materials for language education programs.

Lexia Reading Core5 is a personalized learning program that is student-driven online, and teacher-directed through small-group instruction. The program supports educators in providing differentiated literacy instruction for students of all abilities in grades pre-K–5. Lexia’s explicit, systematic approach provides personalized learning in the six areas of reading instruction, targeting skill gaps as they emerge and providing teachers with the data and student-specific resources they need for individual or small-group instruction.
The WIDA Prime V2 Correlation includes four sections, each with 11 specific standards. WIDA analyzed a complete cross-section of the Lexia Reading Core5 program and found that it satisfied all 44 of the standards and criteria laid out in PRIME V2—acknowledging Lexia’s ability to have a meaningful impact on student outcomes. Specific examples in the correlation note that Lexia Reading Core5:
- Builds academic language at the discourse, sentence and word/phrase level.
- Connects language development standards to state academic content standards.
- Challenges all learners at all levels of language proficiency.
- Provides scaffolding supports for students to advance.
