KFC, or Kentucky Fried Chicken, is expanding its menu in the United States with the addition of a new 100% white meat chicken nugget. The fried chicken chain said that the new food item is made with the restaurant's well-loved Original Recipe.
KFC said that it will roll out its new hand-breaded chicken nuggets today, March 27. Customers can get them at some participating branches across the US. The company revealed that this menu would be one of the permanent additions to its food lineup.
As per PennLive, KFC tested the white chicken nuggets last year, and the restaurant described the test run as "wildly successful." Apparently, the results led to the official launch of the item, which will now be a fixed option on the menu.
The fried chicken brand assured customers that the nuggets would be made with KFC's famous original recipe of 11 herbs and spices. Diners and those who will order through delivery can buy the new white chicken nuggets in five, eight, 12, and 36 pieces packages with prices starting at $3.49.
Customers can also choose the sauce, and the options are buffalo ranch, honey barbecue, ranch, and honey mustard. Moreover, KFC also announced that it would be bringing back its Mac & Cheese Bowl, but it will be around for a limited time only.
KFC said in a statement, "People have been living in a nugget blandemic and settling for the same mediocre nuggets for far too long. The fried chicken experts are empowering America to break up with bland and end it with cookie-cutter shapes and open their hearts and mouths to Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets."
"As the original fried chicken experts, we are introducing a chicken nugget made the way only KFC can – hand-breaded with our distinctive Original Recipe of 11 herbs and spices," KFC US' chief marketing officer, Nick Chavez, further said in the press release. "Simply put, you've never had chicken nuggets like these – they are the chicken nugget America deserves, and worth the wait. Now that's Finger Lickin' Good!"
