SALT LAKE CITY, March 14, 2016 -- Premium active lifestyle brand Jaybird, today announced a new multi-year partnership with local Major League Soccer team Real Salt Lake which includes Jaybird as the official headphone sponsor for the entire team.
RSL star Nick Rimando has been a Jaybird ambassador since 2013 and since then Jaybird's wireless Bluetooth headphones have long been coveted by players and fans around the MLS and the U.S. men's national team.
"It's been awesome working with Nick and RSL in the past and we're pumped to extend that partnership to include the entire team and the fans," said Rene Oehlerking, Jaybird chief marketing officer. "The season never stops for these guys and Jaybird headphones are an integral part of their year-round training routine."
This new partnership will provide unique and unprecedented access to the club's locker room and the stars that occupy it, along with exclusive promotions to give fans opportunities unavailable anywhere else. As part of the sponsorship, Jaybird will participate in promotions on and off the field, giving fans chances to win their own pair of Jaybird headphones throughout the season.
"We're excited to partner with a local company and one that is on the cutting edge of their industry," said Andy Carroll, RSL chief business officer. "Jaybird has always worked closely with athletes in action sports including our own Nick Rimando, and we can't wait to create unique experiences for our fans and our players with the help of Jaybird."
As the official headphone of Real Salt Lake, Jaybird's products will be available in all official team stores. As part of its first promotion, Jaybird will be giving away pairs of its X2 wireless earbuds to fans that download the club's new "RSL AsOne" mobile app available on iOS and Android.
