“Jane the Virgin” Season 5 Episode 5 will be another heart-wrenching story to follow as Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) has now broken up. With Michael (Brett Dier) regaining his memory, it’s inevitable that Jane will need to choose between the two, Vulture reported.
Of course, fans of the satirical dramedy have been polarized who Jane should pick. Should the aspiring writer turn her back from Michael and continue on her journey with Raf? Or should she return in the arms of Michael, her husband? That is quite difficult to answer since the issue has multiple layers. “Jane the Virgin” Season 5 Episode 5 is expected to deconstruct those layers to provide Jane with more clarity amidst her indecision.
On one hand, we have Raf, the guy she’s been with after Michael’s supposed death. In the years that followed, Rafael has been the ideal guy for Jane, being patient with her and changing himself for the better. He’s also the one who brought Michael back after everyone thought he was dead. On the other is Michael, the most thoughtful lover that she could ever have hoped for. Michael has time and again proven his love for Jane, both in small and big gestures. Of course, with Raf going ahead and breaking up with Jane, “Jane the Virgin” Season 5 Episode 5 will also be dealing with this aftermath.
Which brings up the question: was Raf’s decision right? Through the guy’s perspective, it absolutely is. Rafael choosing to leave is justified since he suffered rejection in the hands of Jane before. Of course, one could argue that he should’ve fought for her until the end regardless if the outcome is uncertain. But it’s difficult to blame the guy since he’s re-experiencing the same heartbreak that he went through all those years ago. Again, the problem is layered, a testament to the brilliant writing of the show. With all these gripping plotlines unfolding and the would-be writer celebrating her 30th birthday on “Jane the Virgin” Season 5 Episode 5, the next release is looking like another solid story for the series. And speaking of release, the next episode is slated to air on April 24.
