“Jane The Virgin” Season 5 will be the last installment for the satirical romantic comedy and showrunners assured it’s going to be the best entry yet. The fourth installment’s finale floored most – if not all – of the series’ fan base after it was revealed that Michael (Brett Dier) is alive all this time.
His reappearance has thrown a monkey wrench on the relationship of Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni). Show creator and executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman has hinted what fans can expect on this plot development when “Jane The Virgin” Season 5 is released, Deadline reported.
“If it’s Michael, which you know we’ll see what we learn, I think it changes everything. In some ways it’s the most heroic thing that Rafael could’ve done to bring him back, but also it’s his worst fear that if Michael was still there he would be Jane’s second choice. So with the reappearance of this character, I think he’s done the ultimate selfless act, but I think he’s put their relationship in great jeopardy and that will be a giant part of the storytelling when we finally return for [‘Jane The Virgin’ Season 5].”
Another exciting revelation that’s set to be unveiled in the final installment is the identity of the show’s narrator. While the narrator has a distinctly male voice, it’s being speculated that Jane is actually the one who’s been guiding fans all this time. If so, then this will be quite the twist in “Jane The Virgin” Season 5.
There are also some clues pointing at this direction as well. Among them is the fact that Jane has been portrayed as an aspiring novelist. It’s not far-fetch to assume that all this time, Jane has been reading one of the novels that she’s successfully written. There’s also the fact that Rodriguez herself will be narrating the spin-off series of the show as has been confirmed by CW. With regards to the release date of “Jane The Virgin” Season 5, its mother network has slated it to air on March 27.
