The Chicago-based Molson Coors revealed it encountered a "cybersecurity incident" that disrupted its beer-making operations.
According to the brewer, the hack got its systems offline, delaying and disrupting operations, including its production and shipments.
The company has investigated the incident and has engaged a leading forensic IT firm to assist it. It added that it is working intensely to get its systems running as soon as possible.
Chief communications and corporate affairs officer Adam Collins said they would update their business partners of the developments.
Molson Coors is the second-largest US beer producer, behind only Anheuser-Busch.
Among its beer brands is its namesake Molson and Coors. It also brews Miller, Leinenkugel's, Blue Moon, and Redd's Hard Apple.
Molson Coors also produces makes hard seltzer and non-alcoholic beverages.
The beverage company has not revealed how much of its production has been halted, and how the incident will impact expected production.
