Lot of economic dockets scheduled for today and some with high risks associated

Data released so far 

  • Australia - Building permits dropped -7.5% in January, down -15.5% from a year ago. Current account balance dropped further to -$21.1 billion. RBA kept interest rates steady at 2%.
     
  • China - NBS manufacturing PMI dropped to 49 in February from 49.4 in January. Non-manufacturing PMI dropped to 52.7. Caixin manufacturing PMI. Caixin manufacturing PMI dropped to 48 in February from 48.4 prior.
     
  • Japan - Nikkei manufacturing PMI dropped to 50.1 in February.

 Upcoming 

  • Australia - RBA commodity index will be released at 5:30 GMT.
     
  • Spain - Markit manufacturing PMI will be released at 8:15 GMT.
     
  • Switzerland - Retail sales for February will be released at 8:15 GMT, followed by PMI at 8:30 GMT.
     
  • Italy - Markit manufacturing PMI will be released at 8:45 GMT. Unemployment report will be released at 9:00 GMT.
     
  • France - Markit manufacturing PMI will be released at 8:50 GMT.
     
  • Germany - Markit manufacturing PMI will be released at 8:55 GMT, along with unemployment report.
     
  • Greece - Markit manufacturing PMI will be released at 9:00 GMT.
     
  • Euro Zone - Markit manufacturing PMI will be released at 9:00 GMT, followed by unemployment report at 10:00 GMT.
     
  • UK - Markit manufacturing PMI will be released at 8:15 GMT.
     
  • Canada - Fourth quarter GDP report will be released at 13:30 GMT, followed by RBC manufacturing PMI at 14:30 GMT.
     
  • US - Redbook index will be released at 13:55 GMT, followed by Markit manufacturing PMI at 14:45 GMT and ISM manufacturing PMI at 15:00 GMT.
     
  • New Zealand - Global dairy auctions scheduled for today.
     
  • Auctions - US will auction 1 month and 12 month bills at 16:30 GMT.
