MITCHEL FIELD, N.Y., March 17, 2016 -- Frequency Electronics, Inc. (NASDAQ:FEIM) has been awarded a contract to supply secure communication equipment for a US/DOD missile program. The equipment was developed and is being manufactured by FEI-Zyfer, Frequency’s wholly owned subsidiary located in Garden Grove, CA. It enhances secure communications for command and control of multiple missile sites utilizing FEI’s advanced-development Low G sensitivity quartz and ruggedized rubidium atomic clocks and FEI-Zyfer’s timing system expertise. The initial phase contract value exceeds $5 million, with approximately $3 million of initial funding. The total procurement value including a follow on second phase is expected to exceed $10 million. The equipment is planned to be delivered over the next 18 months.
