“Fortnite” remains one of the most popular games today as it reportedly now has 125 million players. That is an insane number of gamers of a single title and it goes without saying that Epic Games is raking in a lot of revenue with their game. And with the “Fortnite” patch v5.21 released last Wednesday, players will be immersed in new game modes that will make game mechanics more exciting, Polygon reported.
To start, the “Fortnite” patch v5.21 has a new gun coming in the form of an epic and legendary rarity only. This new weapon is a massive sniper rifle capable of dealing 150 to 157 damage depending on its category. Dubbed the Heavy Sniper, this rifle will be able to destroy any wall in the game with a single bullet, which opens up more gameplay options for players who are fond of using snipers.
But as most “Fortnite” players know, mastering only one gun isn’t advisable since the mechanics of the game demands diverse usage of different weapons despite "Fortnite" patch v5.21 introducing this monster of a sniper rifle. Shotguns should be used for close combat, rocket launchers to destroy enemy fortifications, and automatic rifles to deal massive damage-per-second.
And speaking of automatic rifles, “Fortnite” patch v5.21 nerfs only one gun during this update: the minigun. The weapon’s damage has been reduced from 2.5 to 1.5, making it a little less demanding to dock for cover when an enemy is focus-firing on a single player.
What’s more, “Fortnite” patch v5.21 will also spice things up as the new Soaring 50s mode has now been implemented. This game mode will make use of a player’s glider more often, allowing them to deploy it when dropping from a height of more than 10 meters.
But finding a ledge shouldn’t be required all that much as the game mode has increased the spawn chances of launch pads, bounce pads, and impulse grenades. “Fortnite” patch v5.21 will surely make players more creative with how they kill opponents, increasing the possibilities for more highlights in the game.
