The Literacy Symposium is designed to provide attendees with an opportunity to explore the relationships among language, reading, and writing, plus connect theory to classroom practice. Aaron Ingold, president, Voyager Sopris Learning®, reports that the sessions are for teachers, instructional coaches, administrators, curriculum directors, and professional development team leaders.
“Our Literacy Symposium has broad appeal for educators interested in improving student success in reading and writing,” Ingold said. “We are honored to have such a distinguished panel of experts participating who will share their deep knowledge and latest research breakthroughs.”
The Literacy Symposium is hosted by Dr. Louisa C. Moats and Dr. Carol A. Tolman. Dr. Moats is a nationally recognized expert on literacy instruction and author of LETRS® (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) and LANGUAGE! ® Live. Dr. Tolman is co-author of LETRS and has spearheaded several successful, long-term literacy initiatives.
In addition to Dr. Moats and Dr. Tolman, this year's presenters include:
