After a long wait, details about the much-awaited “Destiny 2: Season of Opulence” are finally here. As expected, the new gameplay and activities will start to roll out very early in June, but couple sets of new features will not arrive until July.
“Season of Opulence” will officially take over on Saturday, June 4 — exactly what some fans have predicted in an earlier report. To welcome the last seasonal updates in the “Destiny 2: Forsake” gameplay roadmap, Bungie offers the new six-player activity called the “The Menagerie.” Note that it is exclusive to those who purchased the still-available Annual Pass.
In “The Menagerie,” “Destiny 2” players will be assembled in teams of six called the Chalice of Opulence. They would go through mazes filled with various challenges in the “lost vaults” of Calus. Finishing the games with obviously be rewarded.
Meanwhile, players without the Annual Pass can still access a new raid that comes with “Destiny 2: Season of Opulence.” But an array of new weapons and armors will be added to the game exclusively to those with the paid content. The armory upgrades come with completing the challenges in “The Menagerie.”
Per tradition, the seasonal ranks among all players of “Destiny 2: Forsaken” will be back to zero as “Season of Opulence” begins next week. This also explains why many players are excited to join the new seasonal gameplay as early as they can — higher level to be reached in “Season of Opulence” means much better rewards.
An update Iron Banner and a new seasonal quest are also open to all “Destiny 2” players in summer. By the end of July, all players will also have access to “Solstice of Heroes” composed of more challenges that will be rewarded with exclusive perks.
Players who do not want to miss out on any of the “Destiny 2: Season of Opulence” contents can buy the Annual Pass for $34.99. “Destiny 2” is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
