PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 06, 2016 -- DMscore announced today that it has raised an initial $2.5 million in funding and hired veteran web analytics innovator and co-founder of the Digital Analytics Association, Rand Schulman, to lead the company as chief executive officer.
DMscore, which stands for digital marketing score, will beta launch its legal service today. The initial service on the DMscore platform will assign law firms a numerical score that ranks their online marketing performance against local competition. The service will then provide advice and resources on how to improve that marketing.
“DMscore is a marketplace for buyers and sellers of digital marketing services, anchored around a numeric DMscore,” emphasized Mr. Schulman. “The DMscore measures and ranks hundreds of online marketing factors using artificial intelligence to constantly improve results for any professional marketing their services online.”
Mr. Schulman founded Keylime Software, a digital marketing company acquired by Yahoo! in 2003. He served as Chief Marketing Officer at WebSideStory through its IPO, later acquired by Adobe. He was also the general manager of Unica’s internet division, now part of IBM.
DMscore raised $2.5 million in initial funding from a group of early-stage investors that include former California State Superintendent of Instruction and State Senator Jack O’Connell, former Marvell Technology and NetLogic Microsystems CFO Mike Tate, Techspring Partners, and SLO Seeds.
"DMscore has created a unique and valuable platform and an exciting business model," said Mr. Tate. “And now I am excited to have an analytics expert at the level of Rand join the venture with a strong passion and vision.”
DMscore will beta launch for lawyers this fall and roll out to other professions in the upcoming months. Lawyers interested in improving the ROI of their digital marketing investments can sign up to participate in the DMscore beta service at get.dmscore.com.
